A Little Visitor

June 13, 2004

Dear Families and Friends,

We invite everyone we know to visit but few show up. Last month, one little fellow did -- and he brought mom and dad along.

Marianne's brother Chris and his wife Lisa were escorting young Adam (23 months) on his first European Tour. Some said they were nuts to try to visit with such a little tike, but we thought differently. Adam was a delight, and Chris and Lisa were great additions too.

On the day they arrived by train from Paris, we immediatley took them on a tour of downtown Frankfurt, our home town, complete with good German street food.

The next morning, we had breakfast at our favorite spot in Mainz. It was a good time for cute-kid shots. After food, we headed to Heidelberg, one of our favorite German Castle cities. In just a couple short days, they left for Eastern Europe and, hours later, Marianne headed out for "History Day" championship in Washington, DC. I was left with a very quiet home. Too quiet.

I'm not sure this is a special tourist edition of our diaries, but the picture show illustrates how nice we treat our guests.

Hint.

Hint.

Hint.

Take care, and do take a peek at a very cute nephew.

And never forget the standing Frankfurt invitation. Just say: "Adam sent me."

John and Marianne
