Dear Friends and Families,
I have, once again, fallen behind in these diaries. It's been over two months and I ask myselfy: What's the point? We're not doing a whole lot, besides "the barn" and that has its own website. We are still enjoying our stay in Germany, but I'n not sure it is "anything to write home aboput". Then Marianne reminds me that we do these records for us, not "them". In the end, we know our memories will be faulty, they always are, so I'll keep keeping records. We'll read them someday. |
So, we were just waking up on Saturday, looking out on the back patio to see what yard work could be done, and we heard voices, voices from heaven. Well, not heaven exactly, but just above our heads. There, in the soft morning light, was a hot-air baloon gracefully drifting into our valley. We see ballons in the neighborhood from time to time but this time we watched and then, when we saw them land out back, jumped in the car to have an up-close view -- and to take pictures.
The whole process of packing up was very efficient and the younfg couple who had been the paying passengers said it was the trip of a lifetime. Marianne and I added a baloon ride to our list of gotta-do's. What a list!
