HOUSE DIARIES

LA Roche

August 4-6

Written August 11

Dear Friends and Family,

Story

In between trips to the bluegrass venue, we managed a few walks around the town of La Roche sur Foron, literally: The Rock on the Foron River. It is a charming village, from its 11th Century tower through its narrow streets. By now, "quaint European village" isn't so unusual, but La Roche was particularly pleasant, from the old architecture and the ancient church to nice restaurants , bakeries, and pastry shops. (We have our priorities.)
