Throughout our travel, we have kept up on our Diaries, partly for our own record and partly for staying in touch with friends. In fact, we have three separate Diaries: Marianne writes a daily journal, John writes these weblogs and, when there is time, Marianne prepares scrap books. We share the weblogs with everyone (no choice - it's the global internet after all), the scrap books with interested in-person visitors, and the journals with hardly anyone!

Whereas our Diaries seem to lose their appeal, even to us, after some time, the travel reports from exotic and not-so-exotic places can still be fun reading. We particularly hope they can serve as sources of information and maybe even a little bit of inspiration.
