Filetto

July 11, 2003

The square in the center of town was completely deserted. Like that, it kept the sense of Filetto as a recently-abandoned medieval village.

However, there were colorful flowers around, showing that if deserted, the town had not been deserted long.

This monument to 20th Century war dead seemed out of place. In America, monuments this age are called "old" but, in Filetto, it was almost science fiction futuristic.
