Our first Fall visitors were Klare, Marianne's step-mom, and Jack. They managed to bring along California weather and for that we were grateful. Their stay was also a good excuse to sample local walks and restaurants and to just generally relax. Easy guests and we will welcome them anytime!

Next on our Fall lineup was a quick visit by Nancy and Steve, friends from the Kiev days. They were on their way from The States to a vacation in Croatia. Steve spends a lot of time flying to underdeveloped places looking for ways to spend U.S. foreign aid. This gives him both plenty of frequent flyers miles for vacation and knowledge of vacation places the rest of us don't know much about.

Nancy is a school librarian and brought along one of her kid's "Flat Stanley". As required, we took Stanley pictures so he can go back and tell all the other Flat Stanleys about exotic Bavaria.
