Visiting Monterey

Dear Friends and Families,
Of course our whirlwind California Christmas tour had to include Monterey. This is Marianne's almost-original home town and a favorite of every visitor - including mine. In between family events, we managed a quick look at the harbor.
We stayed with Jack and Klare, Marianne's step-mom. I'm not sure what Marianne and Klare were working on in the kitchen, but it seemed festive enough. Gabby and Mamal also joined us for one of our (many) Christmas over-eating occasions.
Speaking of over eating, we visited Marianne's growing-up home and we joined her bother Chris and his family for a great lunch. The boys are a wonderful age for Christmas, Adam at five and Spencer at three-but-thinks-he's-five-too.
The next morning, we went to Adam's school Christmas extravaganza. The older kids, fourth grade, first sang a medley and then made way for Adam's kindergarten class on the main stage. The whole scene almost made Marianne long for a return to the class room....ALMOST.
<- Here's Chris managing Spencer at the show. Meanwhile, Lisa had to manage a whole class full of fourth graders. -> |
So, after a couple more Christmas meals and a stage show behind us, it's off to Fresno, for more fun and feasting.
John and Marianne.
