Sometimes it's nice to take a bus tour in a new
city to get properly oriented to all the attractions. In Mittenwald,
it's a horse carriage. We piled in with our friendly driver-guide
and chatty fellow passengers and headed out into the surrounding
hills.
Out in the woods, we went up hills where
I worried for our horses but the driver simply kept them moving.
Along the way, we'd see bike riders, straining up or coasting down.
Along the way we saw plenty of benches to rest
on and wood piles from people who didn't need to rest. Mostly,
we saw beautiful vistas of mountians, lakes, and high valley fields.
After an hour-and-a-half, the horses took a break
and so did we. Then it was back to the carriage for the return.
So, now we had our overview of the attractions of
Mittenwald. NEXT time, we'll walk, I promise.
