My day included a walk through our neighbor's yard, over to the bakery to contemplate what I could do for the day. Food and wifi connections are good for making decisions.
I decided to try my hand a few pictures of the "Freilandmuseum" in Bad Windsheim, a half-hour drive from home. We had visited before when we discovered the usefulness of the displays to the restoration of our own home. While we wanted a modern home, not a museum display, the Bad Windsheim reconstruction gave us insight into the bones of our own old building. Today's visit let me look again at a remarkable display.
There are over 100 buildings at Bad Windsheim, all transplanted from elsewhere in Franconia. I will admit that, as interested as I am in this stuff, my attention could not span the entire museum, therefore I have chosen just a few sets of buildings to show. Maybe we need a follow-on, when the weather is warmer and the flowers are out.
