This mill, also from near Fürth, was even older, originally built in 1576. The twin grinding wheels are still in service and, combined, can process 600 kg (1,350 lbs) per day. The building also contained several ovens that served for drying and cooking other farm products. The dryers are also still in service and the Hutzeln (dried plums) were actually tasty and not at all smokey. (We have a Kiev story about THAT taste.)
