Bagnone

July 11, 2003

Dear Friends and Families,

This is a picture tour of Bagnone, another millennium-old medieval town. We ate lunch and walked almost every street in town, in under three hours. In all this time, we saw two other tourists.

This was the view from our restaurant terrace. The walking path to the 11th Century church criss-crossed up this hill, as it had since the place was built.

After lunch, from the church path, we could look back at the buildings we had just left. The water was as clear as glass.

While this was the main pedestrian path up to the church, it was still a bit overgrown. Not many tourists or residents pass this way.

One of the houses in Bagnone. Many of them combined an ancient exterior with well-tended gardens.

The main road through Bagnone was so narrow we did not take our car into town, but this semi driver had no problem.
