House Show For Momo

November 17, 1998

Gabby (and others),

Mamo asked for some pictures of the inside of our house. Here are a few. (You people that were lucky enough to qualify for "cc's" will just have to tag along.)

We hope you enjoy this tour.

Remember, be careful what you wish for. It may come true.

Entry Hall. All grand houses have an Entry Hall and ours is no exception. The closets are where the butler will hang guests' coats. Minks. Ermines. That sort of thing. The closets are all climate controlled. As a matter of fact, climate controls most things here.

Working Kitchen. This is where our kitchen staff does their magic. They create wonderful meals from the meagerest of ingredients.

Non-working kitchen. This is one of those magic meals. Imported Jiff peanut butter, direct from the Commissary. An orange. Multi colored eggs. (Does anyone know why some eggs are bright yellow and others are a kind of pastel? Are those Easter eggs?) And, of course, the mistress of the house in her Saturday morning finest. (Normally she's in furs but this morning she's being kind to animals.)

Estate Office. This is the financial center of the Trotter Kyiv Estate. And the guest bedroom. Desks on the right, closet on the left and sofa bed nearest the camera. There are two desks since we both need one. I use the upper desk.

Bath. Etc. Of course this is a multi-bath home. Except "multi" means that the bath has both tub and shower of course but ALSO a washing machine. A mulit-PURPOSE bath. And, as fans have seen before, we have a completely separate facility for that OTHER function normally associated with bathrooms.

Living room. Remember how neat and tidy and stylish Marianne's living rooms have always been? It's no different here. An elegant coffee table that also holds our cameras. A stylish end table that used to hold our microwave oven. And, a necessity here in the cold north, a fireplace. Well ... it's a plug-into-the-wall substitute for a fireplace but it does get hot. Note the master's slippers warming next to it.

Multi-Purpose Room. This room changes character from time to time. In this view you can see the laundry character, the dining character and the living character. Hidden behind the laundry is the bar and entertainment center character.

Our view. As grand as any from San Francisco's Nob Hill, just a bit chillier (except in summer).
