Back Home In Pommersfelden
October 27 & 28
Written November 25
Dear Friends and Families,
The last several months have been hectic, with too many work trips back to the U.S. Nevertheless, I managed to be home for a week at the end of October. Just so I don't forget what happened, I'm making a few notes here. Without notes, I'd forget everything!
While I was gone, Marianne continued her painting. The one of the little pond house in the neighboring palace grounds is coming along. Of course Marianne will be gone for 8 of the next 9 weeks too, so further progress will have to wait for after Christmas. |

In my short stay, we did manage to attend the birthday party of our neighbor, Mr. Dorn. He and his wife run the restaurant up at the castle, so we know we'll always find fine food at one of their occasions. Besides, they and their friends are among the most gracious folks we've met here in Germany and it is always fun to exercise my (poor) language skills. |
I miss being able to take country walks when I am on my business travels. Consequently, we try to work in something whenever I am home, even if it is just around our own neighborhood. |

So, it's not so much, but this little diary will keep me straight on when, exactly, I was home (and we DO call Pommersfelden home nowadays.) Maybe next year knowing when I'm home won't be so hard!
John and Marianne.
