Oktoberfest and Family

Dear Friends and Families,
On yet another weekend drive from Charlotte to Lynchburg, I swung by Hickory, NC, for their famous Oktoberfest. The only difference between the fest in Hickory and the regular Bavarian ones was that they actually celebrated Oktoberfest in October. Otherwise, it's just a matter of scale and the selection of street food.

The best part about my frequent trips to Lynchburg has been being able to watch grandson Ryan grow. He is now six-months old and he seems to change every time I see him.

OK, now I am caught up with my September and October trips to Virginia and North Carolina. I really should see if there is anything else we need to record. Yeah, there is: Marianne's trip to California; her German excursions while I've been away; our normal Fall in Bavaria pictures; etc. And, I leave for Virginia tomorrow.
I'll never catch up!!
